For my up and coming t-shirt company, I hired a corporate secretary in Singapore. I wanted to have the best members on my team to help me compete with the other companies that have been around for a long time. These other companies have some of the best people working for them, so it was only fair that I did the same thing. I knew that I had an uphill battle to match the same level of success as the other companies, but I figured that I could at least start building a loyal fan base of customers that would be willing to buy my products and spread the word about them to other people so I could gain even more.
The company sells select designs of t-shirts and allows customers to request their own designs. Whenever there is a new order for a custom design, my secretary handles the work of providing the customer with the invoice. Usually when I get custom orders, it’s from someone who wants to have a lot of shirts. These are usually people like sports team managers who want to have all of their team members were a certain shirt for their uniform. There are times when I’ve gotten custom orders for just one shirt, but these are much less common.
The secretary arranges all of the feedback that we receive from our customers. This feedback is what we need to know how we should improve and what we should offer. Some of our customers would like us to offer shirts in larger and smaller sizes. They want to have shirts that will fit their smaller kids or their babies, and some want shirts for plus sized people. Right now, our shirts only cover the standard sizes of small, medium, large, and extra large, but we’ll look into making shirts in the other sizes in the near future.
